The Green Building Solutions Awards continue to inspire the profession by highlighting ever more sustainable and innovative realisations all over the world. This year’s finalists are no exception.
A world-wide participation
In September, juries within the Construction21 network and an online vote selected finalists among the 104 competing buildings. Most candidates came from countries covered by the Construction21 platforms (France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Morocco, Algeria, Germany, Romania, Lithuania). However, the contest is open to buildings from other countries. A special jury was formed to select finalists among them. This year, they were 19 to enter the competition, from Brasil, China, Colombia, India, the Netherlands, Poland, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thaïland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Proof that innovative and sustainable solutions for better and greener buildings can be found everywhere to inspire professionals all over the globe.
International experts mobilized to designate the candidates
An international jury composed of experts will debate over the merits of each finalist in their respective categories. In parallel, a second round of online votes will determine the winner of the Users’Choice Award.
On the road to the COP22
The Green Building & City Solutions Awards 2016 are part of the international dynamics of the fight against climate change. The competition will close at the COP22 in Marrakech, where international winners will be announced November 14th in the presence of Hakima El Haite, Moroccan Minister of the Environment and Bruno Léchevin, president of ADEME.
Awards for the sustainable city
2016 novelty: the eco-districts now have their own contest, the Green City Solutions Awards. For this first edition, the juries will decide among 23 eco-districts.. The City winners will also be announced in Marrakech during the COP22.
