The H2020 project ExcEED launches a new infographic on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The EU-funded project ExcEED collects data from new and energy efficient buildings (such as energy performance, CO2 emissions, etc.), gathered into a database. Through the data collected, the buildings´ performance will be evaluated. The KPIs will be an important part of the ExcEED database, which is now ready to be populated with energy and environmental data of energy efficient (and non) buildings.

The project launched a new infographic on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), that will be used in its database to quantify and benchmark the energy efficiency and the environmental quality at building and district level.

KPIs are used to measure the performance of buildings and provide easily accessible and useful information about buildings themselves and their parts. They aim to create a stable return of knowledge from different types of buildings towards building designers, energy managers and policy makers. They are flexible enough to be used by different actors, multipurpose and applicable to different types of buildings. They are user friendly, easy to use and to visualise. The KPIs will be extremely useful especially for filtering data, benchmarking and clustering of buildings for specific analyses, and therefore for highlighting issues impacting future buildings.

Together with the KPIs, the ExcEED partners developed a set of metadata, to allow filtering the different building typologies according to the areas of interest of the users and normalisation strategies, to neutralise potential effects linked to the contest and to the time when the data were taken.

If you are willing to contribute to the population of the database, you would freely get KPIs, cluster and specific benchmark analyses. The more the data, the higher the value of the database.
