Green Building & City Solutions Awards 2016 - Algeria 2

Three solutions have been awarded Monday by the non-governmental organization R20, "Construction21 Algeria" network and the provincial administration of Oran (432-km west of Algiers), on the sidelines of the visit paid by R20's chairman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to the country's western capital.

The winners are participants at "Green Building & City Solutions Awards," an international contest organized by "Construction21" network.

The contest brings together all those working in the building industry and city planning, who have published studies about their works in one of the Construction21 platforms.

Algeria's participation focused on four solutions relating to the building industry and one to cities.

Three of Algeria's projects have won a national awards

The award of sustainable construction (the contest's Grand Prix) has been bestowed on the National Centre for Construction-Integrated Studies and Research (CNERIB), for its project entitled "Exemplary Rural Housing in Algiers."

The "hot climate and low-carbon energy" award went to Amidoul Foundation, for its project on "Ksar Tafilalt uBeni Izguen-Ghardaia."

"Energy-tempered climate" award was won by Hasnaoui group, for its "El-Ryadh-Oran housing estate" project
