Barbara Mayr

MA Barbara Mayr, BSc. MSc is responsible for the program management of Green.Building.Solutions. Summer University since 2014. After graduating from her studies journalism and communication sciences at the Vienna University, she gained experience in fields like market research, the media industry, sustainable project management and environmental protection before overtaking the organisation of the summer course. Besides her work and after a bachelor degree in Landscape planning and architecture, she studied the joint degree Master study Natural Resource Management and Ecological Engineering at BOKU Vienna. The master thesis at the Institute for Natural Hazards was dealing with Flood Risk Management. The joint degree programme enabled her to study in New Zealand in 2017 and was finished in April 2019 with honors.
 

 Sustainability is not only a deeply rooted core value of OeAD student housing, also the organised summer program “Green.Building.Solutions. (GBS)” (7 ECTS) deals with the ecological, economic, technical and social aspects of sustainable building and construction. It specializes in transferring Austrian knowledge and engineering expertise in practical workshops, lectures and site visits to students and professionals of architecture and engineering sciences. This education in the fields of passive house technology and energy efficiency does not only add to the participants professional qualifications and may be a significant benefit on the job market, it also raises awareness about resource use and climate issues in building and construction. Main contributors are the TU Vienna and BOKU (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna), as well as more than 40 national and international supporting institutions.

The next edition of the Summer University Green.Building.Solutions. will be held from July 13 to August 4, 2024 in Vienna, Austria.

Tuition fee: € 2.290,- (€ 790 on a scholarship basis) for highly qualified students; € 2.790,- for professionals
