JamRock Marble has discovered a natural ‘green’ cementing building material it is patenting as LimeMarble. It can be used to make Natural LimeMarble Plaster, Natural LimeMarble Putty, Natural LimeMarble Render and Premixed natural LimeMarble Cement for concrete and mortar.

JamRock’s Natural Lime can be used to make new buildings, restore older historic buildings and make several molded building materials like “green” building blocks. It is by its very nature a low energy zero carbon dioxide building material that is breathable and load bearing with excellent thermal properties.

LimeMarble’s cement mixing formula is similar to what was used to make Roman concrete during the late Roman Republic as noted by Wikipedia. Another environmental benefit of using JamRock’s lime marble is that it does not have to be burned in a kiln to be used to make cement contrary to what is currently being produced. As such JamRock Marble’s cement does not result in the carbon dioxide gases characteristic of most cement that is the product of kiln burnt limestone.

JamRock Marble has a unique native 98.6% Calcium oxide or Lime from marble deposit with more than 100 million tons in reserve. So it will be available globally at a price competitive with Portland cement. When crushed JamRock’s marble becomes pasty and useable as a binding agent. This is because JamRock”s marble contains all of the basic chemical compounds required to make cement except for water.

Cement’s basic chemical composition includes Calcium Oxide, Silicon Dioxide, Aluminum Oxide, Iron Oxide, Water and Sulfate. JamRock’s marble similarly contains Calcium Oxide, CaO, Silicon dioxide, SiO2, Aluminum oxide, Al2O3, Iron Oxide, Fe2O3 and Sulfate, SO3. Its marble also contains minute traces of other minerals like Titanium Oxide and Nickel.

JamRock’s case study will be using an old building that will be renovated using its LimeMarble cement and LimeMarble blocks.
