Throughout my education I have conducted several studies on the understanding of various sustainable behaviors, as well on the impact of interventions techniques in order to change / foster new behaviors.

More precisely, I try to understand the role that cognitive processes and social factors play in understanding decisional processes, predictions and promoting “new” behavior. My experiments draw on social-cognitive theory, which posits that individuals think about objects at different levels of abstraction that are also related to time, spatial, social or hypothetically perspectives.

I explore how individuals’ mental representations of electricity consumption can change when they mentally transcend the future to form predictions and perform energy-related behaviors. I am also interested and involved in several projects where we explore the potential of digital technologies (such as online social networks, smart meters…) to foster energy-efficient behaviors.
