The Roger Leron Award 2020 is on

FEDARENE is proud to launch the 2020 Roger Léron Award. This year marks the 6th edition of the Prize, but more importantly the 30th anniversary of its initiator, FEDARENE. Both will be celebrated during an exceptional evening on the 16th of September where the Award nominees will be presented together with some of the most impressive achievements realised by FEDARENE members over the last 30 years.

Established in 2014, the Roger Léron Award celebrates outstanding individuals who have significantly contributed to the energy transition in Europe, at local or regional level. Whether they are a part of a local or regional energy agency, a public authority, a non-profit organization or a private company, Roger Léron Award nominees all show the same dedication to scale up energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy sources in their cities and regions. They will be evaluated according to their creativity, achieved impact, strategic vision and leadership qualities. You can find more information on the Award’s rules here

The finalists and winner will be revealed during the Ceremony taking place in the prestigious Centre of Modern Arts of Brussels, the Bozar palace. The evening will gather high-level speakers for European Institutions, FEDARENE founders and members, and stakeholders from the sustainable energy field. In addition, to mark FEDARENE’s 30th anniversary, a large exhibition will be organised around the theme “30 years of FEDARENE: celebrating past achievements, working towards future victories” retracing the history of the organisation and its members.

FEDARENE aims to be an active contributor to women representation and gender balance in the field of energy transition. Therefore, with this 6th edition of the prize, we want to specifically encourage female candidates for the Roger Léron Award.

Do you know… Someone who took a breakthough approach to advance the energy transition? Someone who has shown creativity to overcome challenging barriers? Someone who inspired you to work in this field? A mentor? A local/regional pioneer in environmental and climate protection? A visionary for his/her territory?

Then let their efforts and successes be acknowledged by nominating them to the Roger Léron Award! The nomination process for this year has started and will remain open until May 29th 2020. You can find more information on our dedicated Roger Léron Award webpage.
