Stefanos Pallantzas  graduated from the German School of Athens,Greece and studied Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, where he specialized in the timescale and financial planning of major projects. 

For nearly twenty years he was working on project management and technical support for equipment and supplies in major projects, such as Attiki Odos, the Egnatia Motorway, the Patras-Athens-Thessaloniki Motorway, sewage and management of liquid and solid waste projects in many Greek cities; at the same time he was involved in residential buildings projects, in which he prioritized the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies.

In 2009 he was invited by a technical company in Athens to support, as the project manager, the construction of a residence, which would have to consume the least possible energy. He applied successfully, proposing throughout the project, for the first time, the Passive House standard in Greece. Afterwards, he further continues to be actively involved in building projects in accordance with the high energy efficiency and low carbon footprint, in Athens, Thessaloniki, Paros, Corfu, Ptolemaida, Kozani, Lefkada,  and several other Greek cities.

 

In 2015, he and his team of engineers designed the first EnerPHit project of a public school in Piraeus, assigned by the local municipality. In 2016 he and the team Passivistas got the first EnerPhit Certification in Greece for a retrofit of a 140m2 one family house in Athens.

He has made several presentations about the Passive House standard in the broadcast media and at several events and in several municipalities in Greece, Germany, Cyprus, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. Mr Pallantzas is a Trainer / Educator on the passive house design education, accredited by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt, and has been a rapporteur in 15 CEPH courses, 13 in Greece, one in Cyprus and one in Turkey. Stefanos Pallantzas is the Co-founder of the Hellenic Passive House Institute and President of the Board. He is also a member of the International Passive House Association (iPHA) from the day of its establishment (2011)  and member of the affiliates council , its Technical Panel and the International Passive house Conference scientific committee.

 

He is Certified Passive House Designer and Accredited Building Certifier.
