    TOUTON

Touton specializes in the trading of spices, cocoa and vanilla in France. As such, it has a very large pallet logistics stock that shuttles between the different producing countries and the Bordeaux site. In order to isolate the Vanilla business from the rest of her goods, she consulted companies to build a dedicated storage building.

Exemplary of what can be done in the field of ecology and recycling, this storage shed of 330m ² and about 24 tons of wood, is composed of nearly 800 recycled pallets, 1000m ² of OSB slabs. It was realized in 12 days by only 2 people without specific tools. This building implements the new SYLCAT constructive method.

Sustainable Development

Touton wanted to show its commitment to ecology by having a carbon sensor building that would demonstrate re-use of materials. The consultation valued the ecological offers.

The duration of the project should be very short so as not to penalize the work. The means used for the realization should be the least intrusive possible. The sound gene of the site should not disturb the activity.

The project was a focus of the company during the implementation phase.

Employees and executives of the company came every day to see and measure the progress of the site.

Reusing pallets was a good way to show the company's commitment to respect and preserve the environment. The use of OSB slabs on the exterior cladding completed this desire.

The structure is modular and has the ability to be repaired in case of damage. A sign has been replaced following an accident with a forklift.

The resources of the structure come from the company's own recycling.

Testimony / Feedback

Mrs Cloé DELAIR - TOUTON Company - responsible for Vanilla products.

We wanted above all to put forward an ecological solution that would show the commitment of society in sustainable development. Realizing the import / export of spices and vanilla we are led to have a large pallet logistics stock. To be able to revalorise them for our own needs was a plus ... The commitment of a fast realization - in less than a month - with a minimum of inconvenience for the personnel in place that it is at the noise level or the logistic level - Dry site - and without disrupting the service were key factors in the choice of SOFRINNOV.

Sustainable Solutions

    SYLCAT

The SYLCAT solution is a device patented by the SOFRINNOV company that allows the use of pallets to make wooden wall frames. It is implemented as a game of lego simply stacking the pallets on each other by means of an assembly part itself made of wood. The manufacture of SYLCAT parts is entrusted to adapted workshops or to prisoners at the end of their sentence wishing to retrain in carpentry carpentry. The goal is to allow everyone to build without significant resources or tools.
