Energy-intensive building

The condominium successfully completed its energy transition in July 2021, despite the COVID-19 health crisis, following the vote on the works at a general meeting at the end of February 2020.

The work program, split into two phases, includes:

  • The thermal insulation of the four facades ;
  • The installation of efficient controlled mechanical ventilation ;
  • The insulation of the bottom floor ;
  • Insulation of the heating network.

The overall renovation project of the condominium was well received by all the co-owners , including the social landlord present in the residence.

The union council and the trustee, both driving forces behind the project, have therefore involved all the co-owners so that they are part of the project.

Concerned about the financial capacity of each co-owner, the union council ensured that a balance was struck between ambitious renovation and controlled costs .

Indeed, throughout the project, the co-ownership has demonstrated great cost control in order to secure expenses and allow all co-owners to calmly finance the energy renovation of their co-ownership.

Today, the residence is completely renovated and both co-owners and tenants are very satisfied with the results of this efficient renovation.

The condominium also serves as a test case since neighboring condominiums now also wish to undertake their energy renovation. It is therefore an exemplary condominium on all dimensions of a high-performance renovation that inspires other project leaders.

Reasons for participating in the competition(s)

The condominium has successfully completed its energy transition despite the covid-19 health crisis (vote on the works at the general meeting at the end of February 2020).

It has been able to achieve energy performance while adapting to the financial capacities of the co-owners.

This is why we would like to include this co-ownership in the competition in order to highlight the entire journey accomplished and the work carried out continuously by the union council and the trustee since the beginning of this project.
