Full success for the international meeting of eco-businesses

Pollutec 2014 just closed its doors on december 5th in Lyon Eurexpo. The 26th edition was full of exchanges and meetings which echo the dynamism of green industries market and the mobilization of its actors. This dynamism largely pointed out by Ségolène Royal, French Minister of Environment and Energy, who came to inaugurate the fair and to give the Business & Environment awards. During her speech, the Minister also noted theleading role played by Pollutec to support the ecological transition.

2257 Exhibitors presented their environmental and energy solutions, including more than 600 international companies from around the world. As for the audience, Pollutec warmly welcomed 61 992 visitors, in which 12% came from 120 different countries other than France. The international visitors mostly came with practical projects. First results of the survey reveal a 95% satisfaction rate among professionals, and 92% claimed their intention to come back in 2016.

Innovation in all sectors

The expertise and eco-innovation were allover the fair, in every sector: water, air, waste, energy/energy efficiency, risks, sites and soils, intrumenting-metrology-automation. More than 155 previews were revealed by exhibitors in their booth, during conferences or award ceremonies. Among the innovative solutions, some constitute a real breakthroughs with a bright future, mainly in the energy sector: thin photovoltaic organic films capable of turning any surface in a source of energy, biogas purification and biomethan liquefaction process with limited wastes for a higher production, or even solutions for stocking and valorasation of heat emitted by industrial processes.

An exceptional program rich in meetings and unheard projects

On the international side, having Ivory Coast as the honor guest and the all new Africa Space met a real success. The first goal iswidely reached, to enhance collaborations between African countries (a continent with a great potential) and those who have solutions. Especially for the Ivory Coast, which came with more than 60 practical projects related to environment and energy. On a larger scale, the first Global Markets Forum was unanimously praised after concentrating so many opportunities with every region of the globe. Last, the business meetings (Green Days Meetings and CleanTech) and the official delegations from about 30 countries made Pollutec a true platform for international cooperations again.

The 450 scheduled conferences, through the variety and diversity of their contents, allowed participants to review the latest topics. A particular interest was directed on themes related to Green Cities, Energy Efficiency or even biogas. These themes filled entire conference rooms for the 4 days of the fair, just like the conferences on green growth jobs and trainings. Partners of the event have already asked for the reconduction and extension of those thematic spaces. Also the Sustainable Industry Froum received a large audience, especially for the presentaiton of various feedbacks and solutions for supporting the professionals who want to lay out more responsible and efficient approaches for their companies.

Last but not least, the "D-365 before the COP21, engaged businesses" conference allowed to launch the COP21 among the actors by reminding the role social-economic actors have to play in the fight against climate change, one year before the Climate Conference 2015 in Paris.
