[Video] PopUp Dorms - A passive and prefabricated student residence

PopUp Dorms, located in the city of Vienna in Austria, is a replicable and relocatable building concept consisting of prefabricated boxes.

This building responds to a long-term approach in its passivity, capability of being transported and economic cost control. It was built very quickly and can be reproduced on a large scale thanks to off-site construction.
These "boxes" can be used independently; they have their own monitored ventilation and sealing system. To take this sustainable approach a step further, renewable energy sources have been integrated (heat pumps, photovoltaics, etc.).

Interview with Thomas Lebinger, Deputy Head of OeAD Student Housing at Batimat (international fair).
To find out more about the PopUp Dorms construction, international mention of the Green Solutions Awards 2019 Sustainable Construction Grand Prize, you can read the full case study on Construction21.
