Update about the ebf rooftop greenhouse

In the last months ebf was very busy getting everything in place to start with the construction of the rooftop greenhouse: construction material and sufficient work forces needed to be organized.

Based on the preliminary planning, further examination of the project was conducted. Based on this, the first works on removing the old roof could begin. Since the support building is quite old, there was great care in handling the building structure.

A ring beam was installed on top of the existing brick wall, creating a nice foundation for the rooftop greenhouse. To decrease the emission impact of building materials, parts of the old roof were refurbished and reintroduced in the new structure.

With the help of several wooden support beams, a platform was installed where subsequently the greenhouse steel structure was erected this week. The next working steps would be to install the insulation and roof structure in the next weeks. The first phase of the rooftop greenhouse construction is estimated to be finished by September.
