Launch of City21

In 2050, 70% of the world population will be urban, generating 3 billion new urban, 90% in developing countries. More urban population grows, the effects of climate change worsen. The sustainable city must generate more human development and contribute to the attractiveness of its territory while consuming less energy, resources, space ...

-> The quick dissemination of best practices is a key element of this mutation.

City 21 international observatory for sustainable urban solutions, meets this need. Its main objective, highlight exemplary initiatives and facilitate the exchange of experiences to:

  • Inspire local authorities, enterprises and developers
  • Develop markets for sustainable cities.

Each holder of the urban project, local authority or company will be able to describe an exemplary project or add an exemplary solution to a previously published project.

This tool will be officially presented to the public on December 9, during the COP21, in the presence of Christian Brodhag, Construction21 President Michèle Sabban, President of R20-Regions for Climate Action, Philippe Masset, from the International Action department at ADEME.
