To be continued: Trends in the competition

The candidates, which are numerous and diversified (both geographically and in terms of types) make a valuable panel for establishing trends in sustainable construction in participating countries. A detailed analysis of the 2020-21 edition's trends will be published on Construction21 in the coming weeks, in the form on an article.

Regarding the buildings, there are, as in each edition, a strong representation of housing and office buildings. But we also note the participation of more atypical projects such as a shelter for giraffes, refurbishment of historical buildings and of a castle. Finally, construction in hot climates is highlighted in the competition with 5 projects, located in Sri Lanka, India, and Benin.
