The purpose of the conferences is to take stock of the innovative technology used to boost activities in the fields of green chemistry and white biotechnology around the world, to share knowledge and encourage the creation of new R&D projects involving the academic world, research centers and industrial players in the sector.

Professor Ica Manas – Zloczower, distinguished University Professor, Case Western, Reserve University, Cleveland, USA

 

Ica Manas-Zloczower is the Thomas W. and Nancy P. Seitz Professor of Advanced Materials and Energy in the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering and the Distinguished University Professor at Case Western Reserve University.

She received BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute Jassy, Romania and a Doctor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. She was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota. She was elected and served as the President of the International Polymer Processing Society in 2011-2013.

Professor Manas-Zloczower’s research accomplishments have been recognized through more than 80 plenary, keynote and invited lectures at national and international conferences and more than 100 invited seminars at various companies and universities worldwide

Professor Ica Manas-Zloczower will talk about “Tailoring Bio-Based Epoxies for Various Applications”

Professor Manas-Zloczower current research interests include exploration of the use of naturally derived and other bio based materials for advanced materials in renewable energy applications; development of composite thermoplastic polyurethane systems with enhanced tensile, tribological, thermal and electrical properties; modeling of mechanical properties for nanocomposite materials
