Smarter Together is a project funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 programme, which aims to bring together the cities of Lyon (France), Munich (Germany), and Vienna (Austria).

Simmering is a district located in the south-east side of Vienna, Austria. This smart city project offers clever solutions for the rehabilitation of social housing, implements soft mobility (mainly electrical), and integrates renewable energies (solar and geothermal).
This project involved all the city's stakeholders at the heart of the decision-making process: citizens played a major role in its development in order to improve their living environment and planned a transport system adapted to everyone's needs.

Interview with Bojan Schnabl, Head of Communications at Smarter Together, City of Vienna, at Batimat (international fair).

To find out more about Simmering, winner of the Sustainable District Grand Prize at the national level of the Green Solutions Awards 2019, and international mention, you can read the full case study on Construction21's website.
