Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) Regional Conference 2019 : a platform for sharing research and innovation between researchers and practitioners of the construction sector.
The focus relies on Resilient Built Environment for Sustainable Mediterranean Countries.
The international conference, belonging to the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) series of conferences, is organized by Politecnico di Milano with four international organizations:

Archive Access Policy
The presentations that make up the current and archived conferences on this site have been made open access and are freely available for viewing, for the benefit of authors and interested readers.
Workshop
During the first day of the conference (Tuesday 3 September 2019 afternoon), the organising committee will offer the spaces and infrastructures necessary to organise workshops for students, researchers and interested professionals. The spaces will be assigned based on a call for proposals, which will be evaluated by a panel composed by members of the Local and International scientific committees.
The workshops will take place the day before the start of the official programme, and will be activated if a sufficient number of participants is reached.
Student challenge
Students of Master programmes in the areas of Architecture, Building / Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering and similar areas, who will discuss a Master thesis related to the topics of the conference between January 2018 and June 2019, will be invited to submit their works.
A panel composed by members of the Local and International scientific committees will evaluate the entries and will award the three best ones with silver, gold and platinum certifications. The authors of the selected works will be also awarded free attendance to the SBE19 conference.
Liaison with the global SBE20
The selection of the peer-reviewed “best papers” will be sent to WSBE20 organisers in order to receive their review.
During a final Plenary Session on the last day of the conference, results from this Mediterranean SBE19 will be presented and discussed. A brief description of these results will be shared with WSBE20 organisers.
Future Impact of the conference
The regional SBE results will be reported in an International Agenda and Roadmap for the Mediterranean SBE community, developed by the SBE Series Partners and all the International Institutions involved (ECTP, CIB W116, IEA, etc.) with the support of the Mediterranean SBE19 Conference Scientific Committee.
