Passivhaus tutorial series: Getting to Net Zero

The increased focus on the Climate Emergency has led to a stream of declarations to achieve Net Zero. But what does that actually mean to the built environment? Do we really know how to design and deliver a true net-zero building?

Based on the successful Passivhaus Masterclass, this tutorial series will explore the issues around net zero, providing practical illustrations of what it takes to achieve both net zero operational energy and net zero embodied energy, and highlighting what can be done at design stage to achieve the biggest impact. It will also explain how Passivhaus Classic, Plus and Premium can be used to support a net-zero design.

Each live tutorial will include a presentation and Q&A, allowing the opportunity for full discussion and workshopping. The tutorials will run on Wednesdays at 10am, starting on 29 April.

Feedback from previous attendees

"The impressive research work and presentation on the performance gap between the present Part L Building Regs and actual reality was crystal clear. This knowledge will give us great backup in trying to persuade the industry to build better."

Bill Butcher, Green Building Store

"I use the lessons learnt from the Zero Carbon Masterclass every day and we have now started incorporating many of the things discussed as standard - super helpful."

Emma Mathias-Jones, Greengauge

"The Passivhaus masterclass was a great way to understand the route to zero carbon and balancing the challenges we face in achieving a true zero carbon in construction and in use."

James Turner, Mikhail Riches
