For its third edition, CUBE 2020 scales up to European countries

Following the successful participation of two Belgian candidates (Dupuis Publishers and TPALM, both medalist) in its 2nd edition, the contest for a better use in efficient buildings CUBE 2020 moves forward: the 3rd edition will start on January, 1st 2017 for a new year of competition between commercial buildings, and candidates from any European country can apply!

The European Union is working on the revision of its directives to implement the goals to fight against climate change and to accelerate the energy transition by 2030. No doubt that the EU will raise its ambitions concerning real estate, and that it's more than ever appropriate to take substantial measures to anticipate what will come to be a regulation in European countries on the same basis as the coming French decree for tertiary buildings.

Where to start ? Only you, owner, landlord, user, etc. can answer this question because you're the one who know your building. But how well do you know it ? This is the first question you have to answer. And CUBE 2020 may help you with this one. The contest, which encourages the energy transition in your building within a year, intends to provide a clearer picture of the needs of your building, built collectively. With very little investment and before undertaking major works, CUBE 2020 is a solution to go for the simplest actions and the best results while involving the users.

The 2nd edition led its 123 candidates to an average score of 12,2% of energy savings from July, 1st 2015 to June 30th 2016, and catches up with the European contest Energy Trophy (2004-2008). For a brief overview, the 2d edition reached 57.900 collaborators, impacted 1.283.300 m², led to a 25.175.049 kWh saving...

Its winners saved more than 25% on their energy consumption, with a champion that reached an amazing score of 38,5% of energy savings during the year of competition ! Prized candidates are companies such as POSTE IMMO, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, EDF, ENEDIS, BUREAU VERITAS, BNP PARIBAS REAL ESTATE, DALKIA, and other major actors in real estate sector, but also collectivities, local authorities, schools, universities, hospitals... Please get further information about the winners following this link (FR) !

At this stage, many Luxembourgian buildings  are about to join the competition, thanks to a successful partnership with the technology innovation cluster Neobuild. The 3rd edition will start on January, 1st 2017 and you can enter the competition now by registering there !
