Calling on Renewable Energy Experts: Have your say in the direction of the GSR2022

REN21’s annual Renewables Global Status Report is the most referenced report on renewable energy market, industry and policy trends and we’re interested in what you would like to see in 2022’s edition. Access the outline here to give your feedback.

Share your feedback, at an earlier stage

For the first time in the GSR’s history, we’re inviting our community to review the extended outline of the report. In the past, we have asked the community to peer review full chapters, but this year we would like to include the community at an earlier stage. We want to make sure we cover all ongoing trends and changes in the renewables landscape and are calling on experts to help us shape the direction of the report.

The review of the extended outline is an opportunity to provide early-stage feedback and ideas, all of which can be taken onboard for the authoring of the chapter. It will only take a couple minutes of your time but will go a long way in helping us shape the direction of the report. We will also have a peer review where people can then provide comments to the full draft of all chapters (scheduled for late March 2022).

Are you able to share your expertise? Access the draft outline

REN21’s reports are drawn on contributions from over 2,000 individuals — this is an international, collaborative effort and we value your input. By reviewing the GSR, you too can make your voice heard and shape the renewable energy discussion.  Peer review starts on the 10th of January and will run until 23rd of January. The draft can be accessed here.

As you review, feel free to focus on the outlines most closely aligned with your specific knowledge and expertise. The review draft includes the following extended outlines:

  1. Global Overview
  2. Policy Landscape
  3. Market and Industry Trends, including Bioenergy, Geothermal Power and Heat, Heat Pumps, Hydropower, Ocean Power, Solar Photovoltaics, Concentrating Solar Thermal Power, Solar Thermal Heating and Cooling, Wind Power
  4. Distributed Renewables for Energy Access
  5. Investment Flows
  6. Renewables-based Energy Systems
  7. Renewables in Cities

As always, all contributors will be acknowledged in the final report. Should you have any questions or encounter any problems accessing GSR 2022 online questionnaire, please email us at gsr[a]ren21.net Thank you in advance for your valuable contributions!

We also invite you to share the invitation to peer review of the extended outline with others who you believe may be a good fit for this project. We also invite you to share the news via social media, or with the communications team in the organisations you are connected with. (View the shareable Social Media Kit here.) We would love to engage people who are outside of our network to develop greater diversity, which strengthens the quality of the report.
