POLLUTEC 2014: positive answers to environmental and energy matters

Day after day the news hammers home the message that we have entered a period of change that means we must address the environmental and energy challenges in all of society’s activities, whether it be in industry (more responsible production), in local authorities (improvement in living conditions, homes, transport,…) or in the service sector (reducing the impact of offices, hospitals and other institutions)… It is here that POLLUTEC comes into its own as a show where one can find answers to all these different challenges.

POLLUTEC, which runs from 2nd to 5th December at Lyon Eurexpo (France), will be highlighting new developments and all that the environment and energy industries have to offer in response to the major, cross-sector challenges that confront them. This 26th Pollutec edition, will bring together some 2,300 exhibitors, including 30% from abroad, in order to satisfy the expectations of professionals (engineers and technicians, decision makers, specifiers…) searching for innovative and high performance equipment for their activities.

As a general show, POLLUTEC covers all sectors of the environment:

  • waste and exploitation of materials,
  • water and wastewater,
  • energy,
  • instrumentation - metrology - automation,
  • air,
  • risks,
  • sites and soils,
  • products and sustainable development,
  • pavilions and institutions.

POLLUTEC also covers the topics that are at the heart of current concerns such as:

  • management of emerging pollutants,
  • circular economy (preservation of resources, eco-design, the recovery and exploitation of materials…),
  • atmospheric pollution,
  • urban mobility,
  • biodiversity
  • and natural risks.

All of which are viewed primarily in terms of innovation and expertise.

As part of its global approach, the show is highlighting solutions to three major crosssector challenges:

  • sustainable urban development (Sustainable City focus),
  • high performance, responsible production (Sustainable Industry focus)
  • and sustainable development in the hospital environment (Hospitals and Sustainable Development focus).

There will also be some 400 lectures open to all dealing with important current topics.

Over the four days there will be a host of innovative solutions on show on the stands, competing for the various awards and trophies and in the forums and themed villages organized by the show’s expert partners. A new Innovation Business Lounge will focus on French and European cleantechs. Specifically, it will be hosting the LeCleantech business meetings, which bring together start-ups, major groups and investors to address the latest trends and business opportunities in the market.

A venue for meetings between professionals from around the world

As an international show for environment and energy professionals, POLLUTEC once again brings the world within reach of all.

Building on its success in 2012, the show is hosting the second Sustainable City Solutions, which is an event that brings together numerous experts from around the world to discuss their experiences in the field of the sustainable city. Organized in partnership with the ERAI (Entreprise Rhône-Alpes International) and Grand Lyon, this global, two-day event (3rd and 4th December) includes a symposium, workshops and visits to model sites in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Beside that, this year POLLUTEC is shining the spotlight on regions of the world facing major environment and energy challenges. There will be a space dedicated to Africa in partnership with the ADEA (Association for the development of companies in Africa) and an ‘Export and foreign markets’ forum, which will host a number of events including a programme of lectures and workshops dedicated to Latin America.
