Paris testing the ACCENT tool
The city of Paris is now using the prototype version of the Accompany cities in energy strategy (ACCENT) tool.
This is the first prototype after a period of functionalities definition with Paris and the other pilot cities. Thanks to ACCENT, Paris will be able to:
- Visualize the characteristics of the buildings and the outputs of calculation such as energy consumption on a map a building scale,
- Create and manage selection of buildings based on geographical and attributional criteria (e.g. consumption or date of construction)
- View statistics and graphs on the city, a district or a selectionPilot cities will meet regularly with ACCENT partners to collect their feedback and improve both functionalities and ergonomics and make sure the platform match their needs. Versions for service providers and citizens will also be developed in 2016, with co-design workshops to collect their feedbacks. By the end of 2016, the ACCENT product will be available for sale to any city.
- Adjustments and upgrading process of the tool will continue until the end of 2016, while new versions will be developed each month to include more functionalities (such as the possibility to calculate the impact of energy actions ) and to integrate the cities of Valencia, Reggio Emilia and Ferrara.
What is ACCENT?
Accompany cities in energy strategy (ACCENT) is an Innovation project developed within the Climate KIC, Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership, working to address the challenge of climate change. ACCENT project started in 2014 with a proof of concept phase, intended to deepen the needs in key stakeholders with respect to energy planning. After having validated the feasibility and added value of its offer, ACCENT project have entered a demonstration phase in 2015. In order to support the energy transition of European cities, ACCENT will provide city stakeholders data and tools to map and diagnose existing energetic situation, and design energy strategies which maximize energy efficiency. ACCENT tool is being developed and tested in 4 pilot cities and will be available for every cities before the end of 2016.
