Green Building Solutions Awards: 150 buildings across the world
The competition run by Construction21 just successfully closed the step of nominations. More than 150 buildings are registered, located in a dozen different countries. Various solutions are presented that will concretely illustrate the discussions of the Climate Conference in Paris in December.
Launched on May 18, the Green Building Solutions Awards international competition mobilized dozens of professionals who present their most innovative achievements. Among the 150 buildings presented, 123 are already online, some case studies are still being moderated and translated in English. Countries covered by the COnstruction21 network (France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Luxemburg, Romania, Germany, Morocco) - are the most represented. But there are also buildings from Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Andorra, Costa Rica, Lebanon, China, Thailand and Russia, which confirms the growing international impact of Construction21.
France, the first participating country
With 39 confirmed candidates (and over 26 candidates still in moderation), France is the largest provider of case studies for the Green Building Solutions Awards. Spain is also well represented with about thirty case studies, as well as Belgium, with 15 buildings.
Two trends among the candidates: the Net Zero Energy Buildings and Health & Comfort are the two most often chosen categories. This reflects current concerns among the construction and real estate sector: energy efficiency combined with user's comfort. The low energy renovation, on the other hand, has much less candidates. A surprise given that energy renovation is at the core of the energy transition.
On September 1 starts the online voting phase to select national champions. Get ready by checking out candidates starting today, so that when the voting starts you'll know which building you'll vote for:
